In a bizarre crossover event that defies usual expectations, Ubisoft has announced an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Questline Uncovered

According to the official release, "A strange meeting leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where hints of prohibited rituals and fearsome metamorphoses reverberate through the shadows." The plot features a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a secret cult.

The questline focuses on "strange trials and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Settings and Metamorphoses

The preview showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a striking moment showing a character, probably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Additional Features

Players who accomplish the mission will obtain an unique katana in addition to multiple objects concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Special weapons
• Survey Corps mount

Third Free Story Addition

This patch also introduces the game's third no-cost story episode, titled "The Mystery." The series earlier included a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
